ICON ‘Passive Aggressive’ Conference, Thursday 20th September

Our Mechanical & Electrical Director Mark Napier was delighted to be invited by National Galleries of Scotland and ICON to speak at the Passive Aggressive conference on Thursday 20th September, alongside RIAS & St Gerbain Emerging Architect of the Year Eilidh Henderson of Page\Park Architects. The topic was Scotland’s oldest purpose-built concert hall, St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh. Recently reopened after a significant renovation, the building contains Passive Conservation features.

The ICON conference was highly informative for Conservators, Architects, Environmental Engineers and Facilities Management teams alike, and demonstrates a step towards increased integration of these disciplines, as well as an understanding of the true benefits of designing buildings to be far more Passive and energy efficient for collection conservation.
