Harley Haddow have supported the masterplan with integrated MEP strategies to ensure new and refurbished buildings are energy-efficient, sustainable, and futureproof. Our designs focus on upgrading building services infrastructure across the campus to accommodate phased decanting and demolition, while incorporating modern mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems into the first new build elements of the project.

Close collaboration with the school, design team, and planning authorities has been central to the project’s success. Harley Haddow has coordinated the phased works, ensuring that decanted faculties and infrastructure upgrades are carefully sequenced, and that early design solutions inform subsequent new build elements. This collaborative approach has ensured continuity of teaching and operations throughout the programme.

Key challenges include managing a phased programme across an operational school campus while replacing outdated buildings and infrastructure. Integrating new MEP systems within both refurbished and newly constructed buildings requires careful planning and coordination, particularly to ensure minimal disruption to school operations. Strategic phasing has been essential to allow the demolition of dilapidated buildings while maintaining functionality and enabling the delivery of long-term masterplan objectives.
