International Women’s Day 2025

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 in our 75th year, we spoke to some of long service staff on their experience at Harley Haddow as a woman and their advice for the next generation of women in the engineering sector.

How has Harley Haddow supported your career growth as a woman over the years?

“Harley Haddow has been incredibly supportive of my career growth over the past 11 years. I started at Harley Haddow straight out of high school and have had the opportunity to work across different departments within the support team. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of the various support functions and their importance within the company.

Harley Haddow also supported me in pursuing further education, allowing me to go part-time while I studied for my events degree at university. Now that I’ve completed my studies, I’m back full-time as the Operations and Events Manager. Throughout my journey, HH has continuously encouraged my development, providing opportunities to learn, grow, and progress in my career.”

Natasha Rose, Operations & Events Manager

As we celebrate 75 years of Harley Haddow, what does it mean to you to be part of this milestone as a long-serving employee?

Being part of a company with such a long history of innovative thought and design is a real privilege.  Harley Haddow has grown and changed a lot over the last 18 years that I have been here.

Obviously technology has changed the way we work and the variety of projects moves with the times too but the ability of the company, and the drive of those within it, to challenge the previous and embrace the new is refreshing.

The opportunities for myself and my female colleagues to progress through the company are greater than ever before and I am excited to see what the next chapter holds for Harley Haddow as we grow.”

Emma Read, Director

What advice would you give to the next generation of women joining the company as it moves beyond its 75th year?

“My advice to the next generation of women is to always believe in themselves, lean in and take on the most challenging technical or leadership roles, keep believing and accept challenges. Learn and thrive from your experience and challenges you will come across in your career, be confident in your ability to make a difference in the construction and engineering industry.’

– Maryna Drachuk, Senior Mechanical Engineer

At Harley Haddow, we’re committed to making sure our company is a place where all of our staff feels valued, included, and supported. Today, we’re celebrating the amazing women in our team, our industry, and beyond.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Engineering that strengthens architectural vision

Great engineering should complement architectural design, helping to turn creative ambition into a building that performs as intended.  At Harley Haddow, we recognise that every project has its own vision, priorities and constraints. That is why our approach is tailored to the individual project rather than shaped around a standard solution.  Understanding…View Full Post
