Get to Know David Campbell, National Director of Civil Engineering at Harley Haddow

With more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering, David Campbell recently joined Harley Haddow as National Head of Civil Engineering to support the growth of the civil engineering team and strengthen the company’s national multidisciplinary offering.

Bringing extensive leadership experience from Jacobs, WSP and Woolgar Hunter, David is focusing on strengthening the team, expanding specialist capability and helping clients benefit from a collaborative engineering approach that draws on expertise from across the business.

As Harley Haddow continues to grow across the UK, David’s appointment marks another step in strengthening the company’s civil engineering expertise and its commitment to delivering practical, client-focused engineering solutions.

A career built on multidisciplinary experience

At the start of his career, David gained hands-on experience across many aspects of civil engineering, architecture and construction within sectors such as housebuilding, land development, highways, healthcare and custodial. This early exposure gave him a broad understanding of the built environment and shaped the way he approaches projects today.

Looking back, David believes that experience gave him a greater appreciation of how different disciplines work together, helping to deliver better outcomes for clients through collaboration and shared expertise.

Why David joined Harley Haddow

For David, joining Harley Haddow represented an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with ambitious plans for the future.

Reflecting on his decision, David said:

“I was impressed with the ambition for growth and the diversity Harley Haddow offers.”

Strengthening Harley Haddow’s Civil Engineering offering

David’s ambition is to build on the strong foundations already in place, strengthening Harley Haddow’s Civil Engineering team through continued growth, specialist capability and closer collaboration across disciplines.

Drawing on more than three decades of industry experience, he is committed to developing future talent, encouraging collaboration across engineering disciplines and building lasting relationships with clients based on trust and reliability.

As Harley Haddow continues to expand its multidisciplinary services across the UK, David’s experience will help strengthen the Civil Engineering offering, supporting clients with practical, collaborative engineering solutions across the built environment.
