Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice Engineer (Edinburgh)

We currently have opening for an Apprentice Engineer to join our busy Mechanical and Electrical Services team, working out of our Edinburgh Office. This opportunity could kick start your career within the Building Services Industry and allow you to explore further education opportunities whilst developing your hands on skills and life education within our vibrant city centre office.

Key Responsibilities:

– Work and assist project engineers with all aspects of MEP design, learning the trade and gaining valuable experience.
– Form part of a team and benefit and learn from the more experienced member of staff within.
– Assist with all forms of calculations, studies, report writing etc.
– Become efficient in AutoCAD drawing techniques before progressing to BIM / 3D software
– Learn to manage workload and communicate with the various teams to meet deadlines.

Further Education

– Depending on qualifications and circumstance, Harley Haddow will fund the successful applicant to undertake further education studies. This could be in the form of an HNC or Degree course on a day release or Graduate Apprenticeship basis and this would be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

Requirements

– A minimum of 3 Higher Grades preferably Maths / English / Design. Engineering and Design grades would be an advantage.
– You must be enthusiastic, and willing to succeed and learn from others.
– You should be polite, well presented, have excellent communication skills and be punctual and reliable

Graduate/Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Edinburgh)

Due to continued growth and recent high-profile project wins, we are looking for a self-starting engineer with 1-3 years’ post-graduate experience and a desire to work on design-led projects, to join our engineering practice in Edinburgh. Highly motivated qualified graduate engineers will also be considered for this position.

The role would include the training and development of the candidate, working towards Chartered Engineer status. The candidate would support the Electrical Engineering team across all aspects of Building Services Engineering, including training and development in industry leading 3D design software and core Electrical design systems.

The role is full time permanent Monday – Friday and based in our central, modern, open plan office.
