With an expanding workload in our Glasgow Office we are seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer with a minimum 5 years post graduate experience to join our well established building services team.

This position offers career development/progression and the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects including education, healthcare and leisure buildings.

You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to represent Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members as well as being able to manage your own workload and have strong architecturally driven design experience.

The following are required.

  • 5+ years post graduate strong architecturally driven design experience.
  • Chartered engineer status or working towards
  • Experience of managing own projects and the electrical engineering output to ensure that quality criteria and project milestones are achieved
  • To be a confident & capable individual with strong technical & communication skills.
  • To be able to represent the company through direct contact with clients and other design team members
  • Have experience in software packages including Hevacomp, specialist electrical packages and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to manage engineers, projects and project information flow and communications
  • To provide technical support to junior engineers and technicians

Bid Assistant (Edinburgh)

We currently have a vacancy for a Bids Assistant to join our busy Bids and Marketing Team based in our Edinburgh office.  The team manage the bids and marketing output for all three Harley Haddow offices which means the role is busy and we require a very organised and pro-active person to join the team.

The focus of the role is to prepare Harley Haddow’s response to bid documents and complete PQQ and supplier information questionnaires and brochures using our inhouse templates (Indesign) and library of information. You will be liaising with colleagues and external parties on a daily basis to ensure that information is collated and submitted to meet tender deadlines.  Other responsibilities include updating the bid information library, searching for new bid opportunities and analysing statistics to prepare won/lost information.  You will also have the opportunity to assist the Marketing and Bids Coordinator with marketing projects such as website updates, social media updates, events planning and marketing strategies.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Completion of PQQ and Tender documents to meet deadlines
  • Preparation of brochures for business development
  • Proactive working in the company to keep marketing systems and libraries relevant and up to date
  • Checking of email inboxes to keep up to date with progress on tenders
  • Working alongside the Marketing and Bids Coordinator to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Ensure all internal and external comms are on-brand and consistent

Candidates should have the following experience and skills;

  • Qualified to Degree level or have 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Administration experience
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of MS Office Suite. Experience of graphics packages such as Indesign and Photoshop would be beneficial.

Project Mechanical & BIM Engineer (London)

Due to continued growth and recent high-profile project wins, we are looking for a self-starting engineer with approx. 3 years’ post-graduate experience and a desire to work on design-led projects to join our engineering practice in Southwark.

 

The role would include the training and development of the candidate, working towards Chartered Engineer status.

 

Key responsibilities include;

  • Input to the delivery of the Mechanical Services Design on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Mechanical Services design and post contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow.
  • Deliver Mechanical Engineering designs in CAD & BIM format to clear quality and programme criteria.
  • Prepare Mechanical Services Developed Design solutions in schematic and 2D CAD/BIM format.
  • Deliver Mechanical Services Technical information in CAD/BIM format.
  • Ensure that repeat business is continued by excellent delivery and client relationships.
  • Be actively involved in the day to day operations for the design offices and assist in improving efficiencies and quality on projects.
  • Monitor the Mechanical installation works on site against Mechanical Services Design.
  • Represent Harley Haddow at site meetings.

 

Candidates should have the following experience;

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • 3+ years post graduate experience in a similar role
  • Excellent BIM and CAD skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, work to tight deadlines and manage own workload
  • Demonstrable whole project mechanical systems experience
  • Small to medium sized refurbishment project experience would be desirable
  • Self-motivated and ability to plan execute system design
  • Experience of progress and technical meeting representation would be advantageous
