    • Chris Chesney Director , Civil & Structural, Edinburgh

      Chris has extensive experience in the design and construction of both new build and refurbishment projects across most construction sectors. Chris’s responsibilities include supervision of the Civil & Structural design team, project delivery, project management and SER Certification. During his career, he has led many design projects with a well natured and thorough approach that sees him popular with clients and fellow professionals. Chris also takes a lead role in the training and developing of graduates and ICE trainees.

      Chris has over 30 years’ experience of the design and delivery of projects over the UK and overseas in the MENA regions. His experience ranges across all sectors with particular expertise in the cultural & leisure and education sectors involving the refurbishment and conservation of heritage buildings. He has a particular expertise in the initial stages of a project working with the other design team members to shape the building solution. He adopts a hands-on approach retaining involvement from inception to completion.

      Ewan is an engineer who believes he can make a positive impact on climate change through his career in Engineering. He brings extensive experience in refurbishment and reuse of existing historic and listed buildings to our Edinburgh C&S team. Ewan also specialises in Mass Timber construction and sustainability. Building on this Ewan is pioneering Harley Haddow’s work on Embodied Carbon and works closely with our Energy and Sustainability team.
