Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards April 2018

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) will come into force in April 2018 in England which requires minimum EPC ratings to be achieved for all rented property.

However, the position in Scotland differs with the results on a consultation assessing how Scotland will comply with the standards currently being reviewed.  The Scottish Government will confirm the minimum standards for the private rented sector alongside the wider ambitions of Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme (SEEP) as part of the launch of the SEEP route map in May this year.

This will include the proposed timescale for the introduction of minimum standards, as well as setting out wider elements of SEEP.
