SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY ENGINEER

With an expanding workload, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Sustainability / Energy Engineer to join our well established energy team based in our Edinburgh office. Relevant experience in a similar role is essential. This position offers excellent career prospects and training for advancement.

Key Skills Necessary:

 

  • Competent IES User essential – preferably Level 5 Qualified Accredited Energy Assessor
  • Low carbon energy assessor accredited
  • Excellent communication skills, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work and a willingness to share knowledge to thrive in this busy team
  • Ability to confidently attend and lead external design team meetings and workshops, delivering expertise and advice in relation to sustainable building services solutions
  • The ability to produce and review high-quality reports to predefined deadlines
  • The successful candidate will be required to deliver reports for clients, so attention to detail, reliability and good organisational skills are paramount
  • Degree-qualified and ideally working towards chartered status with at least 2-4 years building energy and building services related experience

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work within our Edinburgh office. Responsibilities will primarily include input to the delivery of the Mechanical Services design on assigned projects, leading and developing a team within the department, maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Mechanical Services design and post-contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow.

The position also requires involvement at management level, assessing workload and priorities, business strategy, business development and client development demanding excellent communication skills. On occasion you may be expected to represent the company at meetings in both Mechanical and Electrical Services disciplines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To manage projects and junior personnel to ensure delivery dates are met
  • To manage Mechanical Engineering output to ensure that quality criteria are met
  • To provide technical support to junior engineers and technicians
  • To prepare Mechanical Services Scheme Design proposals
  • To deliver Mechanical Services detailed design/ production information
  • To ensure that repeat business is continued by excellent delivery and client relationships
  • Be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the design office, and assist in improving efficiencies and quality
  • Develop and improve the engineering and management standards with Harley Haddow.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified and ideally working towards chartered status
  • 5-8 years project experience of which at least 3 years must have been total project responsibility/delivery
  • Strong record in project management, delivery and quality
  • People skills and demonstrable man management and client-facing skills
  • Preferably hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • Be prepared to travel to meetings and projects as necessary. Mostly central Scotland but occasional work in other parts of UK and Europe or overseas that may necessitate an overnight stay.
