Within our teams of engineers and technicians and within different offices and departments we have a number of specialisms which help us to add value to our engineering solutions and offer the Client a holistic solution.
Energy Performance Certificates
Harley Haddow are accredited through the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) to produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for various building types and complexities throughout Scotland, England and Wales. We employ a number of Low Carbon Energy Assessors and Low Carbon Consultants and we can offer EPCs for the following building types:
Scotland - existing non-domestic buildings
England - level 3 and 4 commercial buildings
In conjunction with our considerable Mechanical and Electrical systems surveying and design experience, we are able to offer EPCs for buildings with all levels of systems complexities. To date we have produced EPCs for a number of buildings ranging from simple industrial units to large and complex art galleries.
Thermal Modelling is used extensively within projects to predict and validate bespoke environmental solutions for buildings, whilst minimising and optimising the engineering solution.
Acoustic Consultancy can be provided either to look at specific building services or to review environmental noise propagation, noise and vibration from installed systems or to look specifically at room acoustics and AV performance.
Specialist Lighting can be provided as a specific service offered to particular projects where close integration is required due to the building, the location or the particular lighting aspirations.
CDM Co-ordinator. The change to the CDM Regulations, which were implemented in April 2007, brought about the demise of the original role of the Planning Supervisor and introduced the CDM Co-ordinator to the industry. The Practice enthusiastically embraced this change and immediately set about ensuring the skills and competency requirements of this new role were put in place within the Practice. All our staff originally registered with the Association for Project Safety as Planning Supervisors have successfully completed the requirements of that body to transfer them to the new register for CDM Co-ordinators.
The Practice offers an experienced, practical and proactive approach to Health & Safety. In line with the stated intentions of the revised regulations we seek to minimise the level of paperwork generated in the name of Health & Safety, commensurate with the level of risk associated with a particular project, and ensure that the right information is with the right person at the right time'.
M & E Services Surveys. We have vast experience in carrying out inspections of M & E Services installations and preparing reports for pre-acquisition due diligence, conditions surveys, schedules of dilapidations and conditions and planned maintenance schedules.
Forensic Engineering. We are able to provide comprehensive professional engineering services including construction litigation support, expert reporting and forensic engineering and we have a range of specialist experience in this field.
Timber Frame. We are highly experienced timber frame engineers, which service the specialist market and we can offer support services both in terms of design and investigation/design services on a range of related timber matters.
