As Technical Director for Building Services for the West of Scotland, I major in Mechanical Engineering, however I am conversant with Electrical Engineering, Control Systems and Project Management, my previous experience in Multi-disciplined offices endears me to our Structural Colleagues and we are able to provide a Multi-disciplined offering to our clients. Even if we are not offering the Structural engineering in-house we are able to compliment external Structural engineers on other design teams and bring our expertise to the benefit of the client.

Although I have worked in a variety of Sectors, I enjoy Healthcare, and Leisure projects. The variety of clients, end users and design teams all adds to the fun.

Having been involved in the Services Industry for what seems an age, I have a solid grounding in tried and tested engineering methods, and I am able to adapt these experiences to recent trends.

I am aware of existing and emerging Sustainable and Alternative Technologies but pride myself in being able to deliver these to our clients in a practical and affordable manner.

In my previous existence before Harley Haddow, I started out as an apprentice engineer in a well known Contracting Company, I then entered the mysterious world of Consulting engineering, Ran my own Consultancy and have since run a Contracting Company and latterly returned to Consultancy. The main benefit of being in a larger practice gives the opportunity to bid and secure larger and more interesting projects.

Away from the office my hobbies are Cantonese and Paragliding, Which will come in handy if there's a really strong wind and I land in Hong Kong.
