I am responsible for the day to day running of projects within the Edinburgh Structural team.  I also assist the partners in managing a team of engineers, graduates and technicians.

I am involved in a full range of projects in the office from low rise housing developments and multi-storey flatted developments to small extensions and alterations to existing buildings.  I believe that this gives great experience in a range of different construction methods and materials and helps in developing innovative solutions on all projects.  I strongly promote full design team involvement from the initial stages of project inception as this is the only true way to create high-quality designs that are cost effective and easy to build.

I am also responsible for developing the practices drawing and design automation through the use of 3D software packages.  Developing building design in this way has become far more effective over the last 3 years and can save clients and developers in both time and money by assisting consultants from all disciplines to produce truly integrated solutions.

When away from the office I can be found on the ski slopes or doing a spot of DIY.
