I am responsible for the provision of M&E and environmental engineering services in the Glasgow office and together with Chris McLaren in Edinburgh and David Webb in Guildford provide a structured and co-ordinated M&E approach and delivery for projects across the UK. My main duties are the day-to-day running of the department together with front end input into projects, client liaison, marketing, cost management and whatever else is thrown at me.

The strength of the department is the staff which comprises a mixture of experienced and qualified engineers and CAD technicians, as well as graduate and trainee engineers. This allows us to provide a flexible and bespoke service to each Client base that we are involved with. I also believe in putting something back into the industry and take an active role in the development and training of graduate and trainee engineers. The future of the industry is, after all, in their hands.

We are all aware of the importance of reducing energy consumption, providing sustainable designs, having smaller carbon footprints, etc. It is the aim of the team, however, to put this into practice through promoting awareness of the issues and providing robust energy-efficient design solutions that meet both energy targets and Client aspirations.

My main focus in life is my family. Having a teenager and a toddler can be hard going and I often look forward to getting into work for some rest and relaxation!

In the little time I have to myself I am now found at the gym (I know some of you will find that hard to believe!), but my biggest passion in life has always been music, either listening to, seeing live bands or playing the guitar (very badly). The calling of Harley Haddow, however, was just too strong and lured me away from a life of rock and roll.
