The focus of my responsibilities is on providing structural advice and services to Term Commission Clients including the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish Fire Services College. These functions call on work experience of many differing forms of construction and materials. From the inception of the CDM Regulations in 1994 I have been the principal provider of the company’s Planning Supervisor Service to clients on projects of differing size and complexity.

I am responsible for ensuring the Partners and staff are fully appraised of their responsibilities placed upon them by the CDM Regulations. This is achieved by organising and leading in-house seminars and by providing a focal point for consultation and advice on health & safety matters. I have recently been successful in the transfer examination of the Association for Project Safety to enable me to be a Registered CDM Co-ordinator within the terms of the revised CDM Regulations introduced in April 2007.

I enjoy the company of family and friends. Travel is high on my list of hobbies and my ambition is to experience as many parts of the globe as possible – the more far flung the better!

From my time at school sport has played a significant part in my life with my present activities combining golf throughout the year with curling in the autumn and winter. For many years I was a member of Round Table before age restrictions brought a premature end to my involvement. But I still enjoy meeting up regularly with the ‘over the hill’ Tablers at our monthly dinner.

In conjunction with my wife I have for many years enjoyed our time as Volunteers at St Columba’s Hospice, Edinburgh.
