I am the leader of a small structural team involved in the design of new buildings and structural alterations and extensions to existing buildings. My team works on projects from small, sometimes difficult, alterations to existing buildings up to large multi-million pound developments. I have a keen interest in historic buildings and have been involved in some very interesting projects.

A substantial amount of my teams work is in the Western Isles working with the local council and private architects. I have become involved with a local architect from Stornoway in the design of award winning cottages, one of which featured on Grand Designs recently. We are now looking at “Green Oak” construction techniques for these cottages.

When I am not being an engineer I am very much a family oriented man enjoying the company and doing things with the family, both as a whole and with individual members, I have one girl and two boys. I also enjoy playing golf, watching sports and reading.
