I am responsible for the provision of environmental and M&E engineering services in the Edinburgh office and together with Neil Robson in Glasgow and David Webb in Guildford provide a structured and co-ordinated M&E approach and delivery for projects across the UK. My team in the Edinburgh office comprise a mixture of experienced and qualified mechanical and electrical engineers together with CAD technicians. Each member of the team brings complementary skills to the department as a whole whether it be project or sector experience, an ability to provide alternative engineering solutions or to review a particular opportunity and develop sustainable yet practical design solutions.

I am passionate about architecture and buildings, working to provide sustainable and integrated engineering solutions for buildings. Over the years my team have completed many projects involving award winning architectural practices for many of Scotland's finest buildings. My team and I provide a high level of project input ensuring that the M&E installations are minimised, effective and fully integrated with the architecture.

I believe that the future holds exciting opportunities and challenges for environmental/M&E engineering. The pressure to reduce energy consumption plus the increasing extent to which technology is employed in building requires a holistic approach to every building from the outset, maximising the value that engineers can add to the creation of a sustainable environment without introducing energy intensive M&E systems.

Outside work I like to be with my family and my two daughters (who at the moment are still at the age where they don't mind being with me!).

I also enjoy travel and have been happily wandering around all parts of Europe and occasionally further afield in the summer and winter for many years. I am a keen cyclist and skier but not at the same time!
